Snow Shoot

We were asked to create a bouquet for Briony Hardinge Photography. The flowers had to compliment an amazing dress. So in love with these pictures.

I get really nervous just before I deliver the bouquets, it’s like a million butterflies in my stomach. But it disappears when you hand the bouquets over to the bride, that look the bride gets when she sees  her bouquet for the first time is EVERYTHING!  Some brides cry, some laugh and some just stare at it smiling.  It’s the best reward you can get!

Sandra + Trevor

Peonies, truck loads of greenery, white phaleanopsis orchids, this wedding was a florist’s dream.

I love that I have an amazing team around me to help me build an idea. Especially this wedding. From my husband measuring and cutting a truck load of copper pipe, to my favorite ‘Uncle’ spending hours in his shed making stands, My sister, Mum, and my amazing staff helping me set on the day. This wedding wouldn’t have been possible without any of these people.

Thanks to Trevor and Sandra for choosing us to create your dream wedding, I had so much fun and I couldn’t stop smiling all day, especially when Trevor asked for a hug. Beautiful people x

Massive thanks to Ze Ze photography for coming out with her team to take a few shots.

Cassie’s wedding was held at Peregrines, Table Top Albury. Cassie supplied us with wheat from her family’s farm to go in her bouquet. The maids held simple posies of gypsophila. The brides bouquet featured beautiful mini king proteas, Vendella roses and lots of other different textures.

Protea, deep purple rose, misty, snaps and my favourite flower.. dahlias. Lauren wanted a mix of natives and pops of dark colours for her bouquets. The deep reds, pinks and some purples worked well with the navy dresses. We’re very happy to see that Lauren’s wedding was featured in the Australian Bride Magazine.

Emily is our Graphic designer who owns Me and Em graphic design in Wangaratta. We have loved working with Emily over the past 4 years, and we were delighted when she asked us to help style up her wedding. We suggested that Emily should use a printed table cloth, this worked well with her high centerpieces. Emily then designed her invitations and menus around the table cloth. The flowers had lots of different textures and colors.

Wow! Elithia you looked stunning! These pictures are just beautiful. I absolutely love bridesmaids in patterned dresses. Elithia wanted lots of different foliage in her rustic bouquet. Peonies, snap dragons, alstroemeria, joey, ivy and peppercorn were just some of the ingredients! We thank Elithia for choosing the Rutherglen Wedding Company to create her wedding flowers.

Flowers for Amy.

We love getting weddings out at Peregrines! Such a beautiful spot. Amy used our wooden boxes on her guest tables, filled with gum and candles. Amy’s flowers were beautiful and bright with roses, poppy pods, succulents and leucospermums.

Merry Christmas to all my followers! I hope you guys had a fabulous Chrissy!

Pip + Aaron

This year we have had some pretty amazing weddings, weddings that have pushed us to be more creative, using different techniques and playing with different styles. Pip and Aaron’s wedding did just that. It was a dream wedding, great location, amazing clients, and a massive gate to be suspended from the roof! yay!!! Hanging flower installations are pretty big trend, and we’ve been busting to create one for a while. We used buckets of peppercorn foliage, snapdragons and lisianthus. The gate hung over the bridal table that was centred in the middle of the room.

BIG thanks to ZeZe Photography for coming along on the day to capture some action shots.

Molucca Balm Love.

As soon as I met Rebecca and Craig I knew they wanted something a little different, Something that was going to compliment her black wedding dress. Rebecca’s bouquet came together beautifully with Molucca balm, anthurium, dodda vine, tick, green rose and a David Austin rose that had the best smell ever.

We have had so many amazing bouquets this season. This one would have to be in my top 5.

Katrina’s beautiful flowers.

We have had 13 weeks of beautiful, fun, crazy wedding madness! I have loved every bit but looking forward to a break come January! We also have a massive backlog of weddings to show you. First up is Katrina and Brenton’s wedding. Beautiful, soft and romantic. The candelabras sat on our dusty pink organza overlays. Overlays are a great way to inject some color and texture, and its something different other that the white table cloth.

Albury Bridal Fair.

So I ended up painting the frame work for our stand pink!! Super happy that I did, I don’t know why I even doubted myself. You certainly couldn’t miss us. The gold sequin table cloth looked amazing, we will definitely be ordering some of these to hire out. My other favourite part of our stand was the black and white fabric that we used as our backdrop, I am so drawn to that fabric, I cant wait to find a bride who loves it as much as me! BIG thanks to Emily From Me&Em Graphic design for doing the name cards and menus for the table.

Welcome to The Rutherglen wedding Company’s first blog! My name is Katie. I live in Rutherglen, Victoria. I was very unsure on what to write for my first post. I have googled and googled ‘how to write your first blog post’ apparently I’m meant to tell you about myself and my business as if i’m trying to sell myself to the reader? hmmm… where to start? Maybe trying to write my first blog post the day before the Albury wedding fair wasn’t a good idea. Its 5.30am I still have to paint half our stand and I cant decide on a colour. Pink or white. Pink or white. This has been going round in my head all night, something so small yet I have to analyze it like my life depended on it. If its pink it will stand out and be a dominate feature, if its white it will blend and probably make the flowers that are going on it stand out more. But, I like to be quirky, so pink.. no wait.. white. this was my night, now my morning.

So anyway, this blog will be about me, my mum, Amber Rose Florist and The Rutherglen Wedding Company. There will be a few mentions about my kids and my husband. I will post about the weddings we create, some old weddings we have beautified and anything wedding related that I like. OH wait! I paint the stand white and paint the chair pink for that little bit of quirkiness.. done.
